Dropcloth Sampler - Tree Ornament

Dropcloth Samplers are designed by US based textile artist Rebecca Ringquist. A dropcloth is something that is not too precious, you can get messy, without worrying about making mistakes.
This sampler includes four tree panels and four tree trunks for you to embroider by hand. When complete you can sew into four festive holiday ornaments.
Rebecca used back stitch, couching, and french knots, but you can choose your own stitches to suit your own taste. For best results, we recommend using 3 strands of embroidery floss or size 8 perle cotton in your needles. Choose your favorite colors. This sampler lends itself to a lot of color and sparkle- the couching around the outside is a great place to use metallic threads.
Includes one sampler, printed in black on fabric 9 x 9 inches. You can use any perle cotton or embroidery floss for your sampler – a great way to use up old scraps! Or try some of our Paint Box Threads!
Complete directions for sewing your embroidered panels into ornaments are included.
