Dropcloth Sampler - Pincushions (with kit option)
Dropcloth Samplers are designed by US based textile artist Rebecca Ringquist. A dropcloth is something that you can get messy, without worrying about making mistakes. This beautiful new embroidery sampler can be sewn into two pincushions to keep your needles organized - why not pre-thread them all ready for stitching?
This sampler includes two printed panels with some background colour for you to embroider by hand. Back stitch and french knots have been used in the images but you can choose your own stitches to suit your own taste. For best results, Rebecca recommends using 3 strands of embroidery floss or size 8 perle cotton in your needles but feel free to experiment!
Complete directions for sewing your embroidered panels into functional pincushions are included.
To complete this project, you will need:
-Embroidery Floss or Perle Cotton
-Fusible woven backing (optional) or cotton backing cloth
-Filling for your pincushion
-A Sewing Machine and sewing thread
Or make your sampler into a kit for the additional cost of £13.50
We add a wooden hoop, four beautiful Danish Flora cotton threads to get you started and a pack of Japanese Hiroshima needles, all in a Beyond Measure fair trade cotton bag. Please note needles and threads may differ from those pictured but will be selected to work with your sampler - this kit does not include backing or stuffing.
Please add both items to the cart if you would like the kit version.
