Cohana Sakura Temari Box in Cherry Wood with Cherry Dyed Thread Set
Cohana's Sakura 2021 collection celebrates cherry blossom season. This gorgeous box combines traditional wooden box making skills with the textile art of Temari.
Temari are intricately hand-woven balls of thread which in Japan are traditionally cherished as gifts symbolizing loyalty, friendship, and a blessed life.
The box contains 140 m of thread dyed with fallen leaves from cherry trees. The colour is limited edition especially dyed for this set.
These Temari and threads are created in the renowned Tokyo workshop of Temaricious, where the threads are lovingly hand-dyed with only natural extracts from plants and flowers.
This box is made from wood from the wild cherry trees of the Tohoku region and is perfect for small sewing notions or other odds and ends. The hexagonal shape of the box is common in Japanese home goods, as it is thought to bring harmony and stability to a household.
The box comes beautiful gift wrapped. Please note that wood grain and colour will vary due to the nature of the material.
Dimensions - box is 90mm diameter, and 73mm high which includes the Temari ball which measures about 20mm diameter.
