Sonya developed the series as part of her slow sewing project 100 Acts of Sewing and has created a cult following for these simple but beautiful patterns. Used as they are, they create easy fitting, comfortable garments, ideal to show off your special fabrics. As your confidence grows, you will be customising and personalising the clothes to create an exciting and unique wardrobe! You can find lots of ideas and tutorials on Sonya’s blog.
Shirt No. 1 is a simple top with short sleeves. This loose fit shirt is easy to wear and makes a great layering piece. The neck is finished with bias tape facing. Once you have mastered the basic pattern , you can play around with the neckline, cuffs, add buttons etc.
The pattern calls for 1.5 yards – 2 yards (1.4 – 1.8 meters) lightweight plain weave fabric such linen, cotton lawn or voile (no jersey or knits).
An instruction booklet walks you through the steps, from tracing and cutting the pattern pieces, to making and sewing bias tape. The pattern is printed on thick white paper, with eight nested sizes.

XS: 32 inches (81 cm); S: 35 inches (89 cm); M: 38 inches (97 cm);
L: 41 inches (104 cm); XL: 44 inches (112 cm); 2XL: 47 inches (119 cm);
3XL: 50 inches (127 cm); 4XL: 53 inches (135 cm); 5XL 56 inches (142cm)
