Cohana Kokeshi Doll Pincushion
These charming pincushions are a collaboration between Cohana and the Tsugaru Kokeshi Museum in Kuroishi city of Aomori Prefecture, Japan.
Kokeshi dolls originate from this area, where they were traditionally made as souvenirs for tourists to the region's famous hot springs - you can find out more about them in our blog post.
The traditional simplified shape of the doll with stylised hair and face has been interpreted by Cohana into these sweet pincushions. Each one opens up to reveal a tiny wool fibre pincushion, complete with three needles from Meboso Hachirobei Shoten.
There is also a tiny magnet on the bottom to help pick up strays! There are four colours to chose from - each pincushion is hand painted so each is unique!
Average height is approx 9cm, head width 3cm. Comes gift boxed.
Please note that this is a sewing tool with sharp needles and magnets. It should be kept away from young children and pets.
