Sajou Petits Monstres Scissors
These tiny scissors are made for Sajou in the small town of Nogent-en-Bassigny (Haute-Marne), which has been a centre for the production of scissors like this for over 250 years. 15 separate work processes (most of them by hand) are needed in the making of each pair. Each blade has a number to show that it has been individually fitted – and proved for size – on to its neighbour. The S for Sajou is engraved on each pair. These scissors got their name because of the disproportion between the handles and the blades. In days gone by they were used in miniature sewing kits, so the blades needed to be short. They they can also be used for broderie anglaise or Richelieu embroidery. Come in a presentation box. They also fit our small leather scissor case.
4.5 cm wide by 5.7cm long.
