Cohana's latest collection of gorgeous goods combines traditional wooden box making skills with the textile art of Temari. Temari are intricately hand-woven balls of thread which in Japan are traditionally cherished as gifts symbolizing loyalty, friendship, and a blessed life.
These Temari are created in the renowned Tokyo workshop of Temaricious, where the threads are lovingly hand-dyed with only natural extracts from plants and flowers.
This box is made from wood from the wild cherry trees of the Tohoku region and is perfect for small sewing notions or other odds and ends. The hexagonal shape of the box is common in Japanese home goods, as it is thought to bring harmony and stability to a household.
The boxes come beautiful gift wrapped and are available in 4 colours / traditional patterns:
Yellow (Hishi-tsunagi: Water chestnuts)
Pink (Bara-kagari: Rose)
Green (Asanoha: Hemp leaves)
Blue (Kiku-kagari: Chrysanthemum)
Dimensions - box is 90mm diameter, and 73mm high which includes the Temari ball which measures about 20mm diameter.
