Description:
Transform vintage sewing box treasures into elegant jewellery. Jeweller Judith Brown will teach you how to make a variety of pieces including earrings, necklaces and brooches using wire, upcycled haberdashery and vintage buttons from her collection of lovely sewing treasures, glass beads and using the wire stitching technique. Please note that the images are representative of the haberdashery used in the workshop, as they are vintage choice will vary, which ultimately makes for unique pieces!

Materials:
Materials are included, and include brooch back, necklace wire and fittings and one pair of sterling silver hooks. If you wish to finish necklaces with a sterling silver chain these will be available to buy on the day from £8, along with additional findings to finish extra pieces that you might make.  You can also bring your own vintage haberdashery to use if you wish.

About Judith:
Judith has been making bespoke and unique jewellery collections since 2004 and now works from her studio in Leek, Staffordshire. She come from a textile background, with a degree in Embroidery which set her off on the path of exploring intricate details, subtle colour choices and delicate textures. The elegance and detailed finish of Edwardian and Victorian jewellery and dress, plus the sumptuous fabrics and embroidery of the twenties and thirties, provide inspiration for many of her collections.

  • Workshop runs 11am to 5pm with a short break for lunch.
  • Parking is available on site or on the main road – further transport details on booking.
  • Please bring your own packed lunch if required – tea, coffee and cake will be provided with vegan/gluten free options available.
  • We will be working in a well ventilated space – please wear layers.

    Covid safety
    We will be reviewing the Covid -19 situation and following any Government recommendations to keep us safe. Staff will be required to take a lateral flow test before the workshop and we ask that you would do the same if possible. You may wear a mask if you like and we have accessible hand washing facilities and toilets. The space will be well ventilated and there will be opportunity to take breaks outside if the weather is dry. We reserve the right to contact  participants with further safety requirements if we feel they are needed.

    Cancellation policy
    You may cancel your place and receive a full refund up to 14 days before the start date of the workshop.  To cancel you must email grace@shopbeyonemeasure.co.uk Cancellations after 14 days before the start of the course will only be refunded if we can fill your space on the course. You will be refunded after the course date.

    If we need to cancel the course for any reason, participants will receive a full refund within 7 days of receiving the cancellation notification.  We cannot cover any other expenses incurred, such as travel or accommodation. Please contact us if you have any questions.
