A thank you from me and a word from my customers..
Well, our 10th anniversary year draws to a close - how quickly time has flown!
I want to say a few special 'thank yous' before the year ends - there are so many people who have helped Beyond Measure to grow and thrive over the last decade.
These include and are not limited to: my family, especially James for his support, my boys for their patience and reluctant packing of stitch rippers and application of stickers, and my mum for planting the crafty seeds many decades ago. Mandy and previously Katie in their roles as my right-hand women. My dear friends Sally, Eveline, Loretta, Kay, Helen and Claire, Clair and Joanna, Jenni and Kay for their support and cheer leading, especially in those early days.
All the wonderful artists and makers, other small businesses, suppliers, authors and designers who I have worked with and still do.
Our craft group for continual inspiration and chance to slow down and have a cuppa.
And of course you, my customers - YOU! Without you we wouldn't be here.
So I am handing over to a little group of customers who have been steadfast supporters over the years - for them to say how they got here and what they have found here in my little shop.
Sometimes it is easy to forget the joy you can bring to others.
THANK YOU and see you in 2026....
Harriet
I first discovered Beyond Measure at Edinburgh Yarn Festival in 2019 – I bought a lovely Kate Bowles notebook.

I love the personal touch brought by Grace, who curates such lovely things, and offers inspiration too. I’m a knitter, and have more recently returned to sewing and embroidery, and I love the range of beautiful tools, books and supplies on offer. Any package from Beyond Measure is an absolute treat.
It’s hard to choose one favourite things – I love all the special Cohana goodies, my Ernest Wright scissors, the oak stitch ripper that gets more use than I’d like! Oh and Tulip needles – my absolute favourite for sewing, embroidery, and stitching up knits too.
Congratulations to Grace for 10 years of Beyond Measure, and here’s to the next 10, which I’m sure will bring even more lovely inspiring things.

I must have first discovered Beyond Measure at one of your first craft fairs (a Knitting and Stitching Show?) As a lover of all things textile, I was immediately drawn to your wonderfully curated selection of tools and supplies, beautiful or useful (or usually both!)
As well as supplying all the usual tools, basic (but always high quality) items like needles pins threads, scissors, buttons etc you always seem to be sourcing new and interesting items (most recently gorgeous ribbons come to mind) Also you champion small producers/makers.
So many of the items I've bought from you have become favourites used on a daily basis. Wonderful Cohana tools, Ernest Wright scissors and your leather cases, wooden pincushions, stitch rippers and notions blocks.

I discovered Beyond Measure a long time ago. I think I found a link in a British sewing blog. Everything is excellent: customer service, the consistent high quality of the items, and the wonderful range of goods. My favourite category is the tools - handmade pin cushions, needles from Japan, British and Japanese scissors.
I think that Beyond Measure occupies a unique niche in the quality and extent of its inventory, and I am always grateful that I found it.

I discovered Beyond Measure through social media around eight years ago, and it quickly became my go-to source for all things haberdashery!
I haven’t had the chance to visit the physical shop, but I was lucky enough to finally meet Grace at the Knit and Stitch Show in London a few years ago. She was just as lovely in person as she is online. Supporting small businesses is something I truly value, and Beyond Measure exemplifies why it matters.
The virtual shop is full of interesting, unusual, and carefully curated items that are not only beautiful but incredibly useful. Many products appear to be sourced from other small businesses, and it’s clear that a great deal of love and care goes into their design and manufacture.
Grace is always exceptionally helpful and communicative, especially when it comes to delivery and stock availability. Orders arrive quickly and are beautifully packaged — it’s always a treat to receive them.
My most-used item is a tiny navy sprig tin by Leigh Shepherd, which I filled with the beeswax thread conditioner also from the shop. I keep one with me for on-the-go sewing, and I’ve gifted them to several friends, all of whom have found them just as useful for hand sewing.
Beyond Measure is a true treasure of a shop, and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more highly. There’s always something to tempt and inspire, whether it’s functional or frivolous. Grace is a wealth of knowledge and endlessly supportive in her passion for encouraging creativity and championing small businesses.
Here’s to another ten years of Beyond Measure!

Sarah at “Woolly Originals” had a copy of “How to make a bear” on her then Facebook page and I found your amazing website. Not having sewn anything for years, I found the website and blog so useful to start making face masks in 2020. This soon led to beginning to try creating real clothes to wear.
I love the Cohana range. Probably the pin cushion that hangs around my neck is the most used/useful item. Even though Todmorden is by no means near to my home, I feel as if I’m shopping “local” seeing Grace at Yarn and Stitching shows in the UK.

To Grace and Mandy, thank you for creating something amazing just down the road.
When I think of Beyond Measure it evokes both a warm nostalgia for the past, and an excitement for what’s new. It reminds me of precious time spent with Aunties and Grandparents who could sew and knit. Of button tins filled with treasure, embroidery silks and well-made hand made things. Beyond Measure gives me that feeling. It encourages me to slow down and take my time to connect to an important part of who I am. It is a joy it exists and I am lucky enough that I live nearby.
They always seem to have what I need for my latest project, a wonderful place for gifts for my crafty friends and family. The shop has that feeling that it’s not just a shop but a place of creativity. Beyond Measure is something special. Beautiful things for those who make, long may you continue. All the best for your anniversary, Lucy x

I first discovered your site whilst looking for something obscure; I think it was bulb pins to use as stitch markers, but I found beautiful scissors instead and lovely artist-made treasures...and I haven't stopped since! It wouldn't be unusual for me to look for one thing and purchase something entirely 'left-field' by-the way!
Your lovely warm persona comes through your emails clearly and shines through the website. Although I have never been to the bricks-and-mortar store, I imagine that feels the same. I think the love and respect for the handmade, joyful and beautiful (present in everything you stock) also transmits this way. It really is a tangible presence and makes every visit to Beyond Measure more like a trip to a curated gallery.
Some time ago I purchased two tool caddies-one I use for my drawing implements and the other for stitching tools. I love them! I love the look of them and the look of my treasures in them and that, wherever I set them down, they motivate me to have fun. I use one or the other every day. Thank-you Grace for all you do to uplift, enable and inspire creators...it is absolutely appreciated. With every good wish for many future successful and happy years.
Thank you all once more and I hope 2026 brings you joy, creativity and peace.
