We are very excited to be bringing a range of yarn to Beyond Measure. Iinouiio are a West Yorkshire based company using traditional wool recycling techniques to provide an authentic and unique product.
iinouiio begins it's process with woollen knitwear that is being thrown away. All the hardwear (zips, buckles etc) and linings are removed and the knitwear is sorted into same colour batches. This means both the fibre and the colour are recycled and avoids dyeing. The knitwear is shredded and blended, then carded and spun into yarn. The yarn is ready to be made into beautiful products to start life all over again.
The yarn comes in 50g balls comprising of 97% wool, 3% other fibres and is 80% recycled. There are 115 m/ 126 yards in a ball.
On 4 mm needles a 10 cm tension square should be equivalent to 22 sts and 28 rows.
There are 8 lovely colours in the range, from a deep red and green to a paler pink and creamy beige. Each colour is mottled in appearance.
It is also available as a chunky yarn.
