Working with the best Japanese craftspeople and manufacturers, Cohana have produced these very special scissors with traditionally made lacquer handles.
The sharp pointed steel blades are made by Hasegawa Co. in Seki, an area renowned for its blade making. They are ideal for cutting threads and fine delicate work.
The handles are finished in traditional Japanese lacquer work by the Ehara Lacquer Works in Nagoya. Lacquer* feels warm in the hand, has a wonderful depth and will mellow and improve with use. The scissors come with an attractive leather sheath and are presented in a wooden box with a polishing cloth.
These surely are the most beautiful little scissors and make a wonderful and exclusive gift!
Available in a rich red shunuri or deep brown tamenuri lacquer, plus occasional limited edition versions to reflect the seasons.

*Please note - in rare cases, some people may have a sensitivity to Urushi tree sap, one of the natural ingredients of lacquer. Please be aware of this if you have sensitive skin.

We aim to please and hope that you will be happy with your order. If you are not happy with your item/s and wish to return anything, then please notify us within 14 days of receiving your order. You must then return the items as instructed in their original condition and packaging within 14 days of notifying us.

o Use scissors/blades only for intended textile related purposes.
o Store scissors/blades in a sturdy case or container out of reach of children and pets.
o Follow care instructions to maintain correct use of scissors and avoid damage to blades. Do not use if blades are dull, bent, chipped, loose at its pivot or otherwise damaged or if the handle is broken or loose.
o Wear clothing/footwear to cover body and avoid injury if blades are dropped.
o Work on a stable surface in a suitable and well-lit environment.
o Avoid improper use such as chiselling, ice picking, prying, applying force onto back of blade.
o Do not run or walk on slippery or unstable surfaces whilst holding blades/scissors
o Check for any known allergies to materials and opt for hypoallergenic alternatives if necessary.
