Woven in Japan and dyed in South Africa by fair trade company House of Embroidery, the 100% silk ribbon has no joins and is delightfully soft and easy to work with.
Silk ribbon is most often used for ribbon embroidery and needle painting, either on its own or in creative combinations with other threads. This 4mm wide hand dyed silk ribbon from House of Embroidery is perfect for creating ribbon flowers and greenery and to achieve texture and variety in your projects.
Ribbon flowers made from silk ribbon can also be transformed into beautiful accessories, hair clips or decorative brooches.
Each card contains 3m of silk ribbon.
Colour fastness:
Whilst every care is taken to remove any excess dye from the fibres, red or dark colours should always be tested before stitching.
Pull a sheet of white paper towel or cloth along a moistened length of thread. Alternatively, press the thread between the folds of a cloth with a steam iron. If any colour shows on the cloth, rinse the thread several times in cool water until all excess colour is removed. Air dry thread out of direct sunlight before using.
We recommend the use of a 100% pure soap and a hand wash your finished products with cold or lukewarm water. Do not soak. Rinse with plenty of cold or lukewarm water. Place on a towel face down and press gently. Air dry out of direct sunlight.
