Wendy Ward has a degree in Fashion Design, an MA in Design and is a fully qualified teacher and fashion industry professional. She is the author of several best selling books.
This fantastic book is a great guide to how to make your own clothes and is suitable for a complete beginner. There are step-by-step instructions for 14 key dressmaking techniques such as setting in sleeves, creating pleats and sewing darts. These are accompanied by clear diagrams and photographs.
The book contains full scale multi-sized paper patterns for 6 garments: T-shirt, maxi dress/skirt, trousers, fishtail skirt, zipped jacket and shift dress. There is also a section on how to modify the patterns to add collars and pockets, changing length etc.
The patterns are printed full-scale in 5 sizes which cover the following range: bust 84-101cm (33-40"), waist 68-85cm (27-33.5"), hips 92-109cm (36-43").
Size: 210 x 273 mm.
We sell beautiful and useful things for makers. Our products are sourced with care and consideration for those who make them and we work with smaller companies and individuals whose sourcing and manufacturing process are transparent.
We hope to be an inclusive company and strive to create an environment that is welcoming and embraces diversity, both with our online presence, the makers we represent, our physical pop-ups events and our collaborations.
We welcome suggestions about how we can improve our approach.
We donate monthly to theses two amazing charities:
* Labour Behind the Label
* The Runnymede Trust.
