The Beyond Measure Open Weekend 2018 - Essential information

Just three weeks until our winter open weekend!

If you haven't visited one of our events before, here is what to expect....

The Beyond Measure workspace is on the first floor of an old industrial building in the town of Todmorden (officially in Yorkshire now but very close to the Lancashire border).  The building houses many small businesses behind its doors - from a boat workshop to a glass bead maker.  I use my unit as a base for running my mail order business but it can also be a impromptu sewing studio and social space when time allows!

For my open weekend, I'll be transforming my rather chaotic space into a welcoming shop.  I'll have all of my products on display, plus an exclusive section of slight seconds, prototypes and samples that will be sold at reduced prices.

I'll also have a special offer on my tweed fabric pieces.  There will be pre-made bundles available at special prices and also a rummage area where you can pick your own!

This time I'm going to have a DIY table where you can try out some of my products, have a go at stitching and make a paper tea light cover with my Japanese Screw Punch!
No doubt I'll find some fabric and patterns from my stash to sell, plus there will be a charity raffle, on the spot prizes and goody bags!
SPECIAL GUESTS
I'm also delighted and very excited to be welcoming some other textiles businesses to sell at this event.  Joining me will be:
Faberwood Fabrics (Saturday only)

Jenni Smith Studio (Friday, Saturday, Sunday TBC)

Tillyflop Designs (Friday, Saturday)

We'll also be doing a special promotion with new gallery and maker space Wonderfully Made, which is located in the centre of Todmorden and sells unique gifts and locally made products.

I'll be bringing you more info on them soon, but in the meantime do check out their websites and social media accounts!
I do hope that you'll be able to make it along to one of the days - it's always fantastic to meet you face to face and I know we'll have a fun time! Please check out all the essential info below re directions, parking etc.
Hope to see you there,
Grace  x

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

The open weekend will take place on
Friday 9 Nov 11 - 3
Sat 10 Nov 10 - 5
Sun 11 Nov 11 - 3 (we will open Sunday after the 2 min silence for Armistice Day)

Directions:

We are located at Unit 15, Quality Works, Old Fire Station, Rochdale RD, Todmorden OL14 7NA
By foot or car from the centre of Todmorden - follow the Rochdale Rd for about a quarter of a mile, Morrisons is on the left hand side.  Just past Morrisons on the right, you will see a large mill type building with a clock tower.  We are in this building.  Go to the far end of the building where the sofa sign sticks out.  Go through the large green gates and you will see some double wooden doors that say Old Fire Station Quality Works. Enter the building here and go up the stairs to the first floor and through the door on the right.  Turn right and Unit 15 is straight ahead.

It can be cold - wrap up warm!

You can park on the main road (please do not park in the area inside the green gates as this is for tenants only) or Morrisons have free parking for customers only.

We are a maximum of 10 minutes walk from the train station and town centre.

We are on the main train line from Leeds (about and hour) and Manchester (about 30 mins) and you can also get direct trains from various Lancashire stations.

Other info:

  • I will have a card machine operating but wi-fi can be patchy so please bring cash if you can, especially for smaller amounts and the raffle. There are several cash points in the town and at Morrisons.
  • The works space is situated in an industrial building with uneven floors, so please take care.   Sorry it is not very wheel chair accessible but please contact if you have special access requirements and we will try and help.
  • All are welcome but children MUST be supervised at all times and not allowed to wander around the building unaccompanied. Entry to the building is at your own risk and Beyond Measure or the building owner are not liable for any damage to people or property.
  • Sorry no pets
