Beyond Measure is delighted to be the exclusive UK retailer of the 100 Acts of Sewing patterns from US maker Sonya Philip.
Sonya developed the series as part of her slow sewing project 100 Acts of Sewing and has created a cult following for these simple but beautiful patterns. Used as they are, they create easy fitting, comfortable garments, ideal to show off your special fabrics. As your confidence grows, you will be customising and personalising the clothes to create an exciting and unique wardrobe! You can find lots of ideas and tutorials on Sonya’s blog.
Tunic No. 1 is a dropped-shoulder top with two options for length, a cropped shirt or tunic. This relaxed garment is the perfect layering piece and stitches up super quick! The neck is finished with bias tape facing and there is an optional patch pocket. First published in issue 8 of Taproot Magazine.
The pattern is best suited to mid to light weight cotton, linen, or natural woven fabric (no jersey or knits).
1 7/8 – 2 3/8 yards (1.75 – 2.2 meters) for the shirt length or
2 1/4 – 2 3/4 yards (2.1 – 2.55 meters) for the tunic length
The pattern is printed on thick white paper.
Sizes are based on bust measurement (your actual body size).
XS – 4XL:
XS: 32 inches (81 cm)
S: 35 inches (89 cm)
M: 38 inches (97 cm)
L: 41 inches (104 cm)
XL: 44 inches (112 cm)
2XL: 47 inches (119 cm)
3XL: 50 inches (127 cm)
4XL: 53 inches (135 cm)
