Dropcloth Samplers are designed by US based textile artist Rebecca Ringquist. A dropcloth is something that you can get messy, without worrying about making mistakes.
The Milky Way Sampler is a freestyle sampler and can be worked in your own colour palette and stitch choice; the image shown uses mainly back stitch, running stitch and French Knots, but feel free to improvise! This is a great way to learn new stitches or brush up on rusty embroidery skills.
Includes one sampler, printed in black and white with a partially coloured background. Diameter of printed area approx 16 cm.
You can use any perle cotton or embroidery floss for your sampler – a great way to use up old scraps! Or try some of our Paint Box Threads! For best results, we recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest, most even stitches this way.
