This soft edging tape is made from lovely organic wool. It is designed to be folded over a raw edge as a binding, so it is ideal for repairs on edges such as cuffs etc. It works well with other wool fabrics, boiled wool or heavier stretch fabrics. It is of knitted construction with a ridge down the middle to facilitate folding. It has approximately 30% stretch (10cm length stretches to approximately 13cm).
Width unfolded is approx 30mm, folded is 15mm.
Each card contains approximately 2.3m of binding. We currently only supply it in these lengths but pieces can be joined for larger projects.
100% wool, gentle wool wash only. Do not tumble dry.

As someone who can't knit, but has recently learned to darn, I've not previously managed to successfully mend worn/moth-eaten cuffs and hems. I'm now nearly finished mending a beloved lambswool jumper by using this to encase the entire cuffs and the hem, for a much smarter result than I could achieve with darning. Useful and feels excellent quality!
