The smooth, sharp pins are made in Hiroshima. They are decorated with Mizuhiki Awaji balls in the Cohana signature and seasonal colours.
The Mizuhiki knots are made by Kinoshita Mizuhiki in Ida City. Mizuhiki is a traditional Japanese art form made from a special cord which is made from starched rice paper which is then painted or wrapped with silk or metal to add colour. It is traditionally used as a form of gift wrapping and each type of knot has a special meaning.
The pins are 40 mm long and 0.5 mm thick. They come in a set of three in a small packet, beautifully wrapped.
