Beautiful quality ribbon made in the EU on traditional looms, this new set of festive numbers is ideal for making an advent calendar, or perhaps create something to commemorate a special festive birthday or occasion?

There a 39 labels in the set made up of designs zero to nine, enough of each are given for you to make numbers 1 - 24 if using for an advent calendar. So for double figure number (10 - 24) you will use 2 labels.
The design is the same for each numeral (e.g. No. 1 is always a reindeer) but background colours may vary and are selected at random. They are mainly cream, beige and brown.

You will receive:

Number 0 x 2 - bauble
Number 1 x 13 - reindeer
Number 2 x 8 - mistletoe
Number 3 x 3 - snowman
Number 4 x 3 - birds
Number 5 x 2 - sleigh
Number 6 x 2 - mittens
Number 7 x 2 - holly
Number 8 x 2 - fairy
Number 9 x 2 - candle

Each ribbon measures 4 x 3 cm.  The ribbons come cut with edges pressed in, ready for you to sew on to your chosen fabric.

If you wish to wash the finished project, before you attach a ribbon, iron it using lots of steam on the coolest steam setting. Please test a small section first to ensure the iron is not too hot, especially with metallic ribbons.  The ribbons will no longer shrink and can be used successfully. Can be washed at 30 degrees. Iron with a cool iron.

about the maker

Kafka

The Kafka Ribbon Weaving Mill in Wuppertal-Langerfeld, Germany, has produced traditionally made ribbons on lovingly cared-for Jacquard weaving looms since 1898. It almost closed in 1981 but was saved by Frauke Kafka who ran the mill successfully for almost 20 years as a living museum. She designed a unique collection of traditional ribbons in new colors, as well as her own designs, to revive the mill’s fortunes.

In 2010 the Bandweberei Kafka moved into a new spacious, listed building to house the ever-growing collection of ribbons, literature and illustrative materials, ensuring the history, machinery and designs can be preserved for future generations.
