The ”Archipelago Knitting” knitting magazine is a special issue for knitting enthusiasts including 20 new patterns inspired by Finnish Archipelago. In Archipelago Knitting, the patterns are shaped by the sea and the stark, untamed landscapes of the Finnish archipelago. Archipelago Knitting is published by Laine / A-lehdet.

This gorgeous 124-page craft magazine showcases skillfully designed patterns inspired by the unique conditions of the archipelago—its rock formations, sea-worn stones, and distinctive plant life.

The designs in Archipelago Knitting are created by both Finnish and international knitwear designers. Anna Johanna, Anna Tanskanen, Jenny Williams, Jona Bednjanec, Ulrika Krantz, Sara R., Emma Suominen, Hannemari Lehtonen, Heli Hottinen-Puukko, Janita Koskinen, Anna-Karoliina Tetri, Veera Jussila and Meg Gadsbey each bring their own interpretation of Finnish archipelago nature to the garment silhouettes, colourwork motifs, and textured stitch patterns.

The difficulty level of the patterns ranges from easy to advanced. The collection includes beautiful textured knits and colourwork designs: sweaters, a cardigan, a vest, two pairs of socks, hats, and shawls. The size range is extensive, offering knits for many body types.

The yarns used; Novita, Tukuwool, Säie Wool, Isager Yarn, Cardiff, Sandnes Garn, Filcolana, and Drops. Yarns were selected for their good availability and versatility.

124 pages

20 knitting patterns texture and colourwork: three hats, one mittens, three socks, three scarves, one hooded scarf, one vest, one neckwarmer/collar, five pullovers, one capelet, one cardigan
