This beautiful needle minder from Cohana is sure to become another of their collectible pieces. A needle minder is used by sandwiching your fabric between the decorative top and the backing magnet. Whenever you need to pause your work for a moment, simply let the magnet hold your needle securely in place.
The motif is the 'eight-pointed star,' which incorporates the auspicious number 八 (8), which has long been used in Japan to symbolize positive wishes for hope, growth, and expansion into the future.
"Kumiko" is a traditional technique used in Japanese wooden architecture for fittings such as fusuma (sliding doors), shoji (shoji screens), and transoms. It is a delicate and beautiful craft that combines fine wood pieces without using nails or metal fittings to create various patterns, characterized by the beauty of the continuous expression of precise geometric patterns.
Weighing only about 5g (including the backing magnet), it ensures that the tension of your embroidery fabric won't sag or loosen while you work.
