We are excited to present a new seasonal set of Watercolour Sampler Cloths with artist Dee Hardwicke - the beautiful Holly and Ivy designs.
Based on original designs from Dee's sketchbooks, these gorgeous Watercolour Sampler Cloths are a new approach to embroidery and give a wonderful colourful starting point to explore and develop your embroidery skills.
Beautiful enough to frame just as they are, you can add your personality to these Watercolour Sampler Cloths by embroidering as much or as little of the delicate botanical designs. Whether you decide to highlight a selection of berries and stems to create an eye-catching sense of texture, or you embroider the entire design (perhaps even adding some details of your own), the result will be a unique expression of your creativity. We can definitely see these designs made into a small gift bag, cushion or seasonal wall piece!
You can use your favourite threads or we have put together some special Paint Box Threads twists for you - one for each design.
Each design is printed on a firm cotton background, which gives you plenty of fabric to play with. They all work beautifully in a 7 inch hoop which you can use to work or even frame the designs.
A basic guideline sheet is included to get you started. Please note that as the design is free to be interpreted as you wish, with your own threads and choice of colours, we do not give detailed instructions or a stitch guide. However we do offer some guidance about how to use and combine thread and stitches, and we hope you will join us on online and on social media for help and inspiration.
You can buy each cloth individually or as a set.
Each panel measures 11.5 inches or 29cm square, with printed area up to 7 inches or 18m across.
We sell beautiful and useful things for makers. Our products are sourced with care and consideration for those who make them and we work with smaller companies and individuals whose sourcing and manufacturing process are transparent.
We hope to be an inclusive company and strive to create an environment that is welcoming and embraces diversity, both with our online presence, the makers we represent, our physical pop-ups events and our collaborations.
We welcome suggestions about how we can improve our approach.
