Dropcloth Samplers are designed by US based textile artist Rebecca Ringquist. A dropcloth is something that is not too precious, you can get messy, without worrying about making mistakes.
The Schoolhouse Sampler is the newest design from Rebecca. This jam packed design is inspired by the history of American sampler making and is filled with stitch tutorials, letters, and eight different pattern squares.
You can customise by choosing your own colours and threads to make a beautiful sampler. Measures 25 cm x 30 cm or 10 x 12 inches.
For best results, we recommend backing this fabric with a second piece of fabric (cotton or linen) before placing your fabric in the hoop. You'll get the flattest,
most even stitches this way.
Instructions aren’t included but can be found in most embroidery books, in Rebecca’s online classes, or why not get a friend to show you?
Includes one sampler, printed in black. You can use any perle cotton or embroidery floss for your sampler – a great way to use up old scraps! Or try some of our Paint Box Threads!
We sell beautiful and useful things for makers. Our products are sourced with care and consideration for those who make them and we work with smaller companies and individuals whose sourcing and manufacturing process are transparent.
We hope to be an inclusive company and strive to create an environment that is welcoming and embraces diversity, both with our online presence, the makers we represent, our physical pop-ups events and our collaborations.
We welcome suggestions about how we can improve our approach.
We donate monthly to theses two amazing charities:
* Labour Behind the Label
* The Runnymede Trust.
