Knitting and Crochet tutor Rachael Elwell is running a friendly monthly session for knitters and crocheters who looking to improve beyond the basics of knitting and crochet.
You may have completed our 'Learn to' beginner courses, or mastered the basics at home,  and now want some extra guidance to learn some new skills such as shaping techniques, reading a pattern or sewing up, making button holes, learning decorative stitches or having a go at some colour work techniques. There is so much to learn beyond the basics!
At each 2 hours session Rachael will provide a small 'have a go' project which will focus on a new stitch, technique or small project pattern for you to try out.
Participants are also encouraged to bring along a project they are currently working on, or want to attempt to have a go at but don't know how to get started.
Please note that this is not a beginner's class, you must already be able to understand the very basics of each craft.
These are the skills you must already have to be able to attend:
  • Knitting - cast on, cast off, knit and purl
  • Crochet - making chain stitches, slip stitches and how to make a treble crochet stitch.
If you are unsure of your skill level, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us to ask.
Materials, a pattern handout and cups of tea will be provided.
  • Parking is available on site or on the main road – further transport details on booking.
  • We will be working in a well ventilated space – please wear layers.

    Covid safety
We will be reviewing the Covid -19 situation and following any Government recommendations to keep us safe. Staff will be required to take a lateral flow test before the workshop and we ask that you would do the same if possible. The space will be well ventilated and there will be opportunity to take breaks outside if the weather is dry. We reserve the right to contact  participants with further safety requirements if we feel they are needed.
