So much more than a knitting magazine, Laine is a unique publication that combines stunning knitting patterns, photography, interviews, travel and recipes. You will want to revisit the beautiful patterns, images and text time and time again!
The winter 2026 issue, Laine 31, Lingering, invites you to enjoy a staycation in a charming small town. Wander with us through the quiet, snowy streets of Porvoo, one of Finland’s oldest cities, wrapped up in cosy woollen garments and accessories, of course! The issue offers an abundance of styles and techniques: captivating textured stitches, vintage-inspired lace, simple stockinette stitch, different kinds of colourwork and the perfect all-over cabled sweater for all you cable lovers out there!
Designers featured in this issue: Eun Mi Ahn, Fiona Alice, Alice Caetano, Joanna Filip, Sarah Hatton, Kirsten Joel, Kaori Katsurada, Henna Ketonen, Thien-Kieu Lam, Rebekka Mauser, Heli Rajavaara, Lisa Richardson, Lili Tobias, Lív Ulven and Julia Wilkens.
We also meet the academic and wool advocate Melissa M. Littlefield (@knittingthestash), visit the Michigan Fine Yarns yarn store and get style inspiration from Erika Sininärhi (@yksisilmukkakerralla). Our Five Ways article shares helpful tips for curating and organising our yarn stash.
16 knitting patterns: 9 sweaters, 2 cardigans, 1 vest, 1 shawl, 1 hat, 1 pair of mittens, 1 pair of socks.

I contacted Grace from Beyond Measures regarding Appletons crewel wools and she immediately responded to my query. She gave me all the informations I needed and took the time to list all the colours that were available. When I purchased, my parcel was dispatched on the same day! I am very happy with the service and quality of materials I have received.
Loved this introduction to Sashiko…I am totally hooked. No worries about the instructions being in Japanese ChatGPT translated perfectly. Response from the Beyond measure team were prompt and v helpful. One happy customer returning.
Excellent quality, being a well made hoop and a deeper frame it's so much better at holding the fabric taut
Always a joy to receive an order from Beyond Measure. Quick reliable service. Beautifully wrapped. I love Grace’s leather thimbles, just prefect for hand quilting. Definitely recommend Beyond Measure for all your creative needs. X
I love this stuff, it makes it so easy to transfer embroidery/ Sashiko patterns, I just trace the pattern then sew over the top and it washes away under a running tap.
