In this fresh collection of botanical-inspired motifs, Yumiko Higuchi combines wool thread with cotton floss for a modern twist on embroidery.

Wool thread creates fluffy, three-dimensional embroidery with a soft, warm texture. Because of its voluminous nature, wool thread stitches up quickly, allowing you to create bold embroidery designs with ease.

The collection includes 24 stunning motifs featuring mushrooms, dandelions, poppies, pansies, butterflies, birds, and more, all stitched in vibrant, eye-catching colours. You’ll also find instructions for simple projects that are perfect for showcasing your wool embroidery.

Inspirational as always

Its always a treat when a Yumiko Higuchi book is published in English. And even better when its stocked "locally" - ie, in the UK. Simply Stitched with Wool is another collection of lovely designs I had no hesitation in adding to my Yumiko book collection. As usual the first half of the book contains beautifully photographed embroidered projects followed by pages of advice, instructions and clear full size patterns to trace or copy. As indicated by the title these designs have been embroidered in tapestry wool and cotton floss but they are just as well suited to embroidery silks.

Its just so hard to choose which to go for first. Oh but I do love the marigolds!
