Maito plant dyed cotton thread - variegated
- Worldwide Shipping Available
This beautiful cotton stitching thread from Maito Design Works is carefully hand-dyed at their workshop in Akizuki, Asakura, Fukuoka using dyes extracted from plants and trees.
The resulting colours created by plant dyeing are a combination of various factors such as the amount of dye, temperature, nature of the water, time of collecting plants and the environment in which they have grown up.
The gentle gradation of color in each skein creates an attractive shading of colors that only hand dyeing can produce. They are also available in solid colours too.
The thickness and strength is suitable for all kinds of stitching, and is especially recommend for sashiko and kogin stitching. The thread can also be used for weaving, crochet, tassels, papercrafts etc.
